First and Second (Kyle Champion)
37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38This is the first and great commandment.
39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
The question is do you love him? Jesus put the greatest commandment as loving him with all your heart, soul, and mind. And the second commandment as loving your neighbor as yourself.
It's one thing to say you love him with your whole heart, soul, and mind. But it's another thing to actually show it. It is said that your actions speak louder than your words.
Peter claimed he loved Jesus and ended up denying him three times. So many times we claim we love him but our actions point otherwise. Is your heart and your lifestyle pointing to a whole hearted love for Jesus? Are you living according to his word?
Just something to think about!!!! You might need to reevaluate your love for God.
I understand we fall and mess up, All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But that means we pick ourselves up by the boot traps and continue showing our whole hearted love to him.
An awesome scripture that i love to pray is, "Psalms 51:10- Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. It's so important that our inside is clean and pure so it reflects to our outward. I want to make sure I'm doing everything i can to have a clean heart and a whole hearted love for Jesus.
And the second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself. Not always the easiest thing to do but it was commanded by God so it must be done. Your supposed to pray for your enemy and for those who use you. Someone slaps you your supposed to offer the other cheek as well. Ready Luke Chapter 6 it's an awesome but challenging chapter to read. Don't forget to love as God has commanded us to do. God Bless.
