"Are You Preaching Jesus" (Rick Lovall)
Acts 11:19-20 19 Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only. 20 And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.
Can you imagine the conversations Simon of Cyrene must have had when he returned home after carrying Jesus' cross? You know he had to have gotten some of Jesus' blood on his clothes. You know he had to have looked into the eyes of the man who was dying in his place. Acts 11 records men of Cyrene who preached Jesus. MEN of Cyrene...not just one man...but MEN! He couldn't keep it to himself. He obviously shared his testimony with others.
Once you get a feel for Jesus' blood...and look into His grace-filled eyes...you just gotta tell someone else about Him! It's so important that we preach Jesus! Not dogma, not pet peeves, not personal agendas...but Jesus!
If you're not preaching Jesus, then I suggest you've allowed His blood stains to wear off your cloak of servanthood...and may have even forgotten what looking into His grace filled eyes did for you in the first place!
The magnitude of our day demands that we preach the Lord Jesus! For the love of every lost soul, don't go another day without telling someone about JESUS!
Just something to think about....
