Who Will Rise Up? (Kristi Isaacson)
Psalm 94:16 and 17 "Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence."
God help a silent church! I am amazed at the silence of so many of my brothers and sisters. I even recently read an article where I was astounded at the ambiguity of a stance they(being ministers) took on a very important issue. No one wants to be the one that offends. Therefore no one is ever wrong. The flipside is that no one is ever right. Where does that leave righteousness? I believe the spirit of Laodicea is stronger than it has ever been. I rarely find a Christian in this generation that is on fire for this gospel. Many are lukewarm. Right is right. Wrong is wrong. The problem is that we are too tolerant of the things that are going on in our own lives. Be patient and have lovingkindness toward your fellow man, but judge yourselves!
This is where the problem lies. We do not want to judge things in our own lives. We do not want to judge ourselves. It is okay to be wrong. Many times we are afraid of standing up for anything for fear of being wrong. If you are wrong, you can recognize and correct. Even God himself would rather you be hot or cold. You say you aren't sure what side to take on an issue? Pray about it. I know God will give you the answers.
Anoint thine eyes with eye-salve , that thou mayest see(Rev 3:18).
If we cannot declare what is right and wrong in our own lives, then we cannot stand up for righteousness and against the evildoers.
Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. (Psalms 97:10-12 KJV)
